My Mom

Hi- an update about mom. Her surgery went well yesterday and she slept through the night last night. She did break out into hives from the morphine drip though.

The morning started off well- they took the packing out, took the catheter out and unhooked the IV. However, by 1 she was not emptying her bladder well enough and they had to put the cath back in. That was a blow to mom's spirits.

But she was able to eat solid food tonight (the first in 48 hours)! So the mashed up green beans and soggy mac and cheese was quite a treat for her!

Much love-

2 pairs of brothers

I thought this was a great picture of Noah, Luke and my cousin Beth's two sons- Burton (15) and Caleb (8).

Noah Skis!

Lud got Noah a great pair of training skis. They are tied together at the front and the end, and the tow rope does not hook to the boat- a person in the boat holds it. And the tow rope goes to the skis and then up to the child. So- Noah got up that first day and tried a few other times during our stay. The longest he went was across our cove- perhaps 45 seconds out of the water. It was such a joy to watch him ski!

Water Fun

Obviously, we spent a ton of time in and around the water. Here are a few pictures of the many times we hit the water. There is a picture of Nick and Olivia skiing together, also Nick is skiing slalom, Burton on doubles and Noah and his friend Langley in the tube. I did throw Noah out of the tube while he was riding with Nick- I didn't get a picture of it but he had a great time!!

Ode to Grandma

Grandma came down on her birthday (July 8th) with her sister-in-law (one of my mom's favorite aunts) Edna.
For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing Grandma she is one of the most loving and giving individuals around. I can say that she has always wanted what was best for her family and loves each of us very much. So, I say this with love to my "oly" Grandma!

Luke vs. The Watermelon

Based on these pics I would say Luke won hands down. He had three pieces that day and probably would have had more if I had let him. I did not want him to get sick so I cut him off. He was covered in watermelon juice from face to lap. It was adorable!

We're baaaaack!

Hello friends and family!

We have enjoyed three wonderful weeks at the lake and are back in time for mom's hysterectomy on Tuesday. I have tons of pictures- Noah learned to ski, boys playing in the water, riding the boat, etc, etc. They will hopefully be posted tomorrow.

Much love-

More Beach Pictures

Well here are a few more pictures from Litchfield. Our boys, and our whole family, and Luke and Noah on the beach (or in Noah's case, under the beach), and Noah with one of the crabs that they caught and cooked.
We really had a great time and are looking forward to it next year.
We are heading to the lake for about three weeks. I'll try to make it to the library and post some pictures.
